Our mission is to improve living conditions for people in remote rural communities of the Democratic Republic of Congo. We aim to reduce poverty, improve health and education for rural communities, and identify opportunities that will build community self-sufficiency. We achieve this by providing access to education and healthcare, building small community infrastructure, and forming community groups to improve the management of local forests and natural resources.
Due to circumstances beyond their control, these families have minimal opportunity to access everyday resources such as state education, healthcare, and safe, comfortable learning environments for their children.
Your donation can make a difference by enabling children in remote villages in the Democratic Republic of Congo to live improved lives—where they are educated, healthy, and able to contribute to the future economy of the country. Materials for Learning
Many educational materials in local languages are often out of date. We work with school leaders and publishers to ensure that students have access to current textbooks that are age appropriate and written in their primary language.
Continuing Education for Teachers
We create bespoke continuing education programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful.
Support for Communities
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.
Support Our Flood Relief Efforts
The RainShine Foundation in conjunction with the Red Cross, Dungu, Democratic Republic of Congo is raising funds to provide emergency flood assistance to villages in the northeastern DR Congo.
